What’s New with the 2021 Hyundai Kona?

In the subcompact SUV category, it doesn’t get much better than the new Hyundai Kona. In fact, U.S. News & World Report recently named it the number one model in its subcompact SUV class. And because the 2020 model was so excellent, Hyundai didn’t have to reinvent the wheel with the 2021 version. While most things stay the same, there is one notable addition: a new trim.
Introducing: Night Edition
The 2021 Hyundai Kona Night Edition trim fits in between the SEL Plus and Limited trims. As the name implies, it comes in black, and there are also gloss-black 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Inside, you will find black cloth upholstery and a black headliner. Other standard features include LED exterior lighting, aluminum gas and brake pedals, and HD and satellite radio. You will also get a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 175 horsepower and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Special Features
Other than the new trim, the 2021 Hyundai Kona will pretty much stay the same. That means you’ll be able to enjoy:
- Great space and comfort. The space inside the Hyundai Kona is vast, and there is plenty of room for up to five people. There is also a ton of cargo space: 19.2 cubic feet behind the back row and 45.8 cubic feet when it’s down.
- Tons of tech. Every model comes with several advanced features, including Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ connectivity and two USB ports.
- Advanced safety features. The Hyundai Kona is designed to keep occupants safe, as it comes standard with features like driver attention monitoring, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking.
