2021 Hyundai Tucson vs. 2021 Toyota RAV4

February 18th, 2021 by

The 2021 Hyundai Tucson is one of our top-selling Hyundai SUVs in Fort Myers. While it is commonly compared to models like the 2021 Toyota RAV4, there’s nothing quite like the quality of a new Hyundai SUV.

See how the Hyundai Tucson holds its own against the Toyota RAV4 when you visit Hyundai of Fort Myers.

Engine and Size Differences

At first glance, it’s clear that the Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota RAV4 have different engine and drivetrain configurations:

  • Hyundai Tucson: 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, six-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel-drive
  • Toyota RAV4: 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid engine, continuously variable transmission, all-wheel-drive

Despite the powertrain differences, efficiency remains the same in both models, and they both have the same towing capacity. However, on the inside, the Hyundai Tucson is slightly more spacious than the Toyota RAV4, making it ideal for tall drivers and passengers requiring more head- and leg-room.

Safety Features

While these two models share many driver assistance and safety features, they did not score the same on  NHTSA crash tests.

The Hyundai Tucson received a five-star rating, whereas the Toyota RAV4 only earned four stars. Both models were named Top Safety Picks by the IIHS when equipped with specific headlights (and optional front crash protection on the Hyundai Tucson).

Test Drive the Hyundai Tucson Today

The Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota RAV4 have a lot in common in terms of functionality. However, our Hyundai SUV offers a smooth, polished exterior, while the Toyota RAV4 might seem a bit more aggressive in comparison.
